There is hardly any better drink to get a started in the morning than a Bloody Mary. Right before breakfast I decided to put the Thai crew to the test and ordered one. It wasn’t the quality I am used to (my friend M. in Stuttgart prepares the best Bloody Mary I know) but it could have been worse.
When I arrived at Sydney I immediately went to the nearest Qantas counter to have them check if the ticket I had for the day before was still valid or could be re-booked. You may have guessed it: no. I had to buy a new ticket to Brisbane which cost me AU$ 200. The probability that Emirates is going to pay for it is rather small since their contract ended at Sydney. I’ll try it anyway.
At least I was happy that I had finally reached Australia. Before take-off I had enough time to spend the first Australian dollars (not counting the ticket for which I had used my credit card for the very first time), so I bought a freshly prepared fruit’n yoghurt drink that went by the name of “Cyclone Surprise”. It was delicious!
